It seems that things are starting with Coach Prime and the Buffaloes. After Deion Sanders led Colorado into unmarked territory in 2023, the Buffs were featured in National Headlines, the AP Top 25 and more. Just about everyone had hopped on board with the Coach Prime train. After going 3-0 to start the year, Colorado went 1-8 to finish the season. Overall, they finished with a 4-8 record. After the season had wrapped up they lost some recruits, but as we draw closer to the early signing period it appears things have settled. Arguably, the best offensive line prospect, Jordan Seaton, has committed to the Buffaloes.

The five-star prospect announced his commitment live on FS1’s Undisputed. Seaton will likely be a game-changer for Coach Sanders. Not only was Offensive line a big need for his team, but he can likely use the announcement to recruit other players along his trail.

Jordan Seaton had a long list of offers that included Oregon, Alabama, Tennessee and Ohio State. For the Buffs to land the five-star recruit is huge for their development. As of now, he projects as a favorite to start as a true freshman. The offensive line struggled to protect QB Shedeur Sanders last season. They gave up 56 sacks, which was the most of any Power Five school. They ranked last nationally in rushing offense.

Seaton is not the only change to the offensive line however, the Buffaloes also hired Oklahoma analyst Phil Loadholt to be their new Offensive Line coach. Two of the starters from last season:  Van Wells and Gerad Christian-Lichtenhan have entered the transfer portal.

The addition of Jordan Seaton was enough to jump the Buffaloes up 13 spots in the 247Sports team rankings. As of now, Colorado has a total of 10 commits.

“One of the few offensive line prospects in the 2024 cycle that has a chance to be a left tackle at the game’s highest level,” 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins wrote in a scouting report. “Should be viewed as a potential multi-year starter for a College Football Playoff contender based on what he put on tape as a 12th grader at IMG Academy, which has churned out plenty of high-profile linemen over the years.”

During his announcement, Seaton stated he would spend the next 3-4 years in Boulder, Colorado. It might be hard for Sanders to keep him there, especially if the team isn’t doing well with the transfer portal. It’s easy for top prospects to switch teams and get more eyes on them. Though, with the Buffaloes headed to the BIG 12 that also might not be necessary. One of the better conferences in the nation, the BIG 12 features several teams who are CFP contenders.

Seaton is a polarizing recruit at 6-foot-5 and 287 pounds.
