With the conclusion of the 2022-23 NFL season, all 32 teams now head into the offseason. Below are key dates for the 2023 NFL offseason.

February 21-March 7: Time period for teams to franchise-tag players

During this period, teams that have players on expiring contracts can use the franchise-tag on desired player to avoid losing them in free agency. Each position is set with an amount it would cost for the team to use the franchise tag.

February 27-March 6: NFL Scouting Combine

Players arrive in Indianapolis on the Monday, Feb. 27th. For the first three days, players will be getting their medicals checked, as well as meeting with teams and coaches. On-field activities and televised events begin on Thursday, Mar. 2.

Thursday, March 2: DL and LB drills

Friday, March 3: DB drills

Saturday, March 4: QB, WR, and TE drills

Sunday, March 5: RB and OL drills

March 13 at 12:00 p.m: NFL Free Agency legal tampering begins

Moreover, teams and free agents are allowed to begin negotiating contracts.

March 15 at 4:00 p.m: New league year begins; free agency and trading period opens

Free agents can officially sign contracts with teams. Additionally, can also begin trading.

April 3: Teams with newly hired head coaches can begin offseason workouts programs

Furthermore, the Texans, Saints, Broncos, Cardinals, Colts, Bears, and Panthers can begin offseason workouts.

April 17: Team with returning head coaches can begin offseason workout programs

All other teams can begin their offseason workouts.

April 19: Deadline for teams to host Top 30 visits

Final day for teams to host draft-eligible players at their facilities.

April 21: Deadline for Restricted Free Agents to sign offers

The final day for RFAs to sign competing offers made by their current team.

April 27-29: 2023 NFL Draft

Round 1 begins on Thursday, Apr. 27 at 8 p.m ET

Round 2-3 on Friday, Apr. 28 beginning at 7 p.m. ET

Rounds 4-7 on Saturday, Apr. 29 beginning at 12 p.m ET

May 1: Deadline to exercise fifth-year options

This applies to players selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Furthermore, despite the on-field action of the NFL season being over, there is still much to look forward to in the 2023 NFL offseason.
