The Hat Tricks

Dallas Stars Forward, Jason Robertson, scores back-to-back hat tricks, and is the second in franchise history to accomplish it. The last time an NHL player recorded back-to-back hat tricks was Washington Capitals Alex Ovechkin in January 2020.

In addition to a hat trick and game-winner in consecutive contests, Robertson topped the NHL with seven goals in three games, helping the Stars to a perfect week and clinching the first Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.

He recorded his first hat trick on Mar. 4 against the Winnipeg Jets and his second on Mar. 6 against the Minnesota Wild. It must be a tough time to be a Jets or Wild fan. Including his two hat tricks over the past two games, the star has scored 29 goals this season. He has also scored eight goals in his past five games.

“He’s a natural goal-scorer,” Stars coach Rick Bowness said of Robertson. “He knows where to put the puck, he knows when to shoot, where to put it, and that’s an instinct you can’t teach. And he’s got it.”

Words From Goaltender Jake Oettinger

“It’s been so fun to watch him, I think if you were around him every day you wouldn’t be surprised at how much success he’s had,” he said of Robertson. “Obviously he’s a huge part of our team, we need him to keep playing like he’s been playing, he’s a great guy too so I’m really happy for him.”

Keep An Eye On Robertson

Robertson, a second-round pick by the Stars in 2017, struggled to start this season because of injuries but has helped Dallas resurgence into postseason contention. In addition to his 54 points on the season, he has the most goals on the team. I’m sure many teams are keeping a good eye on this guy.
