Was it going to feel weird seeing Donovan Mitchell on a team other than the Jazz in Salt Lake City? Maybe for the first time. Though that’s exactly what happened on Tuesday when Donovan Mitchell returned.

Mitchell’s return was spoiled by Jordan Clarkson and the Jazz however as the home team won 116-114. A familiar sight was seen for all in attendance Mitchell went off and the Jazz won.

The game began with Mitchell receiving a warm reception as he took the floor, complete with a video tribute from the team that traded him last offseason for Lauri Markannen, Collin SextonOchai Agbaji, and a boatload of draft capital:

Most of the action was back and forth, until about the third quarter when the Jazz took a double-digit. That happened before Mitchell went on a 10-0 run to put the Cavaliers up by seven in the fourth quarter. From there, the odds were in good favor for the Cav’s to win being up by five with three minutes to play. That’s when Clarkson showed why he is a former sixth man of the year. He delivered a 9-0 run to put the Jazz back in front. They would stay in front the rest of the way.

In Mitchell’s return, he finished with 46 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals. Clarkson finished with 32 points, six rebounds, and four assists, while Markannen also came up big playing the star he was traded for, posting 25 points with 16 rebounds.
