John Cena

John Cena is one of the biggest stars the WWE has ever had and he’ll be making his return very soon.

Cena has become a recognizable figure outside of the Wrestling world through his work with charity and his transition into acting. The 46-year-old has prioritized his acting career over the WWE in recent years, while making sporadic appearances. In doing so, he has been able to appear as The Peacemaker in Suicide Squad and television series.

The WWE confirmed that John Cena would be making a return to the promotion. That schedule has since been updated and will feature Cena making a longer run on the Company’s Blue Brand, Friday Night Smackdown. Alongside his original September 1st and 8th appearances, the 16-time WWE Champion will make another seven more appearances well into October. Additionally, he will host Make-A-Wish in every city that Smackdown appears.

A big part of the reason could be that the SAG-AFTRA is on Strike. The WWE also could be bringing Cena back to keep the momentum going. Roman Reigns has been absent since the Friday after SummerSlam. Cena’s return also comes after the shocking news of Bray Wyatt passing away. The future Hall-Of-Famer joined the wrestling community and looked back on the feuds he had with Wyatt:

Following the news, Cena could reference some of his past matches with Wyatt during one of his promos. He could do something entirely new and potentially go on one more championship run. He could also help the WWE put over some of its younger talent. Either way, it’s going to be good to see Cena back.
