Jon Rahm continues to show glimpses of Tiger Woods’ terrific tear when he won seven straight in the 2006-2007 season. Now, with Rahm’s ‘Tiger-like tear’, he has reclaimed the No.1 spot in the world rankings following his win at the Genesis Invitational.

This past weekend at Riviera, Rahm found himself in close competition with Max Homa, however clutch putts from the Spaniard on 14 and 16 helped secure a two-stroke win. Rahm finished Sunday at 2-under for a 69.

“[To win] at a golf course with this legacy, this history and hosted by Tiger Woods, is such an honor,” Rahm said.

This win makes it three in in five starts for Rahm this season. He joins Johnny Miller and Arnold Palmer as the fastest to reach three wins before March 1.

Meanwhile, in these five starts, he has amassed a purse of $9,402,750, with this win earning him $3.6 million. However, that does not include his earning at the CJ Cup in October, which he received $462,000. Scottie Scheffler earned a total of $14,046,190 last year, which set a tour record.

Furthermore, Rahm, 28, sits atop of many stat categories in the PGA. He ranks first in Scoring Average, Strokes Gained, Greens in Regulation, Eagles Per Hole, and Birdie Average. Correspondingly, he is crushing it off the tee, averaging 316 yards.

Prior to regaining the top spot, Rahm held it last in March of 2022, ultimately being overtaken by Scheffler. Rahm sat at the top of the Official World Golf Rankings for 43 weeks.

“I don’t need a ranking to validate anything,” said Rahm. “I’m having the best season of my life, and hopefully I can keep it going.”

Moreover, along with the Genesis Invitational, Rahm has placed first in the Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express tournament.

The winning streak continues for Rahm’s sponsorship as well. Callaway’s new line “Paradym” has been in bags of five wins in seven starts. With Rahm entering into major season—two in the next coming months—he hopes to keep his Tiger magic going.
