When will LeBron James break the all-time scoring title is one of the biggest sports stories right now. This season has been another disaster for the Los Angeles Lakers. There is only one thing to celebrate. That being James breaking the all-time scoring title in his 20th NBA season. At age 38 James is still defying the odds and playing as he did during his prime years. Breaking many records along the way. Above all, the NBA scoring title might one of the biggest accomplishments of his storied career. So when will he break the record?
Lebron James Approaching The Scoring Title
The scoring record is currently held by hall-of-fame player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. For 34 years fans believed that this title would never be broken. Abdul-Jabbar’s career record for points is currently 38,387. However, as of Wednesday, February 1st, 2023, James has 38,299 points. James is only 89 points away from breaking that all-time scoring record set in 1989. The record being broken is only a matter of a few games away.
Which Game Will The Record Be Broken
Many fans believe James will break the record on February 7th, 2023 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. As stated earlier he is only 89 points away from breaking the record. As well as completely shattering that accomplishment as James does not look to be calling his career quits any time soon. If James simply averages 25-30 points over the next 3-4 games he will be able to eclipse the record. The world believes James’ all-time scoring title will be in his grasp on February 7th. This seems to be so popular that some tickets for that Lakers home game have sold for $75,000 dollars. However, bettors believe that James will become the all-time leading scorer on February 9th, 2023 because the odds are better.
Next Five Lakers Games
February 2nd vs Pacers
February 4th @Pelicans
This game against the New Orleans Pelicans could be a long shot for James winning the all-time scoring title. James can very easily score 40-plus for this game.
February 7th vs Thunder
Lakers vs Bucks February 11th
February 11th @Warriors
For the 2022-23 NBA season James is currently averaging 30.2 points per game. If he is able to keep that up then the betting favorite will be February 7th. However, that is if he plays in all of the next five games. Which is something to keep an eye on. As James recently missed time due to foot soreness. I believe that the game against the Pacers will tell the story of when James’ all-time scoring title is finally his.
