They must approach this game with the aim of keeping all 3 points at the Bernabeu. Barca are already 8 points clear and a defeat or draw in this game will almost certainly throw the league title away. Xavi’s men travel to Almeria on Sunday. A game that they should be winning. Nevertheless, it’s possible that they drop points which will open up the title race.

Atletico Madrid

Atletico hosted the previous Madrid derby in the league. First half goals from Rodrygo and Fede were enough to give Real the three points despite Mario Hermoso’s eighty-third minute header.

Los Colchoneros have 3 wins in 5 matches with their most recent victory coming against Athletic Club. It was a relatively even game and both teams had chances but Griezmann showed his class with a powerful run and finish to win the match for his team.

They’re without Rodrigo De Paul and Sergio Reguilón for the derby and Memphis Depay is a doubt.

They’ll have to put in an emphatic performance if they intend to get all 3 points from this match.
