Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen continue their dominance over the 2024 Formula One season as the series returned to Shanghai for the first time since 2019. Two safety cars in the middle of the 2024 Chinese Grand Prix kept this race closer than most when Verstappen starts on the pole. Lando Norris was able to keep Verstappen in his sights for several laps following the second safety car. But Verstappen managed to pull away securing his fourth win in five races during the 2024 season. The only race he hasn’t won was when he failed to finish in Australia.

Norris finished in second marking the first time in the 2024 season Verstappen has won and his teammate, Sergio Perez, failed to finish second. Perez finished in third place joining Verstappen and Norris on the podium. Verstappen and Perez have each secured four podium finishes while Norris has secured three podium finishes. Only the two Ferrari drivers, Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc have joined Verstappen, Perez and Norris on the podium in 2024.

The drivers of Formula One will take a weekend off as they travel from China to the United States. Verstappen will look to repeat as winner of the Miami Grand Prix. Meanwhile, the drivers of Formula Two and Formula Three won’t race again until mid-May when they return in Imola, Italy.
