South Carolina Freshman guard MiLaysia Fulwiley has signed a multi-year NIL partnership with Curry Brand. This is the official apparel brand of NBA superstar Stephen Curry through Under Armour.

The deal is the first of its kind, as no other collegiate athlete has partnered with Curry Brand before. This comes days after Fulwiley was named the SEC Tournament MVP. Fulwiley was the first Gamecock freshman to take home that honor, and averaged 14.3 points per game in the tournament.

As part of the branding deal, Fulwiley will wear Curry Brand shoes for the remainder of her collegiate career. She will also operate as a brand ambassador and appear in endorsements.

“She is such a unique talent and an unbelievable ambassador for the game of basketball,” Stephen Curry said in an interview with Boardroom. “We are thrilled to welcome her into the family.”

The Curry Connection

Before Fulwiley made her impact under Dawn Staley, she played for Curry’s AAU team in Charlotte while in high school. The Warriors star noticed her high-octane style of play early on. Now, she serves as a representative of everything Curry loves about basketball. And it’s an added bonus that the University of South Carolina is an Under Armour affiliated school.

“She was a part of Curry Camp and is a Team Curry alumni, so the fact that there is such a full circle moment of being a part of the Under Armour family from the jump is great,” Curry said.

Fulwiley’s NIL portfolio continues to grow as she also signed a first-of-its-kind multi-year deal with Red Bull on Tuesday.

“Knowing that I can be a role model for other young girls to come out here and do exactly what I did, is amazing,” Fulwiley said.

But the best part of the deal for Fulwiley? Getting to design her own custom colorway of Curry Brand shoes.

“I used to do that on 2K,” Fulwiley said. “Being able to do that in real life and actually for me…it’s unexplainable.”

What’s Next for Fulwiley?

As much success as she’s finding off the court, she’s still laser focused on the court. Her skillset is catching the eyes of people all over the country, especially Curry.

“I think her style of play is changing the women’s game on the fly,” Curry said about Fulwiley. “She’s got just a flow about her on the floor that I don’t think people have seen for a very long time.”

And as the undefeated Gamecocks prepare for another March Madness run, Fulwiley is determined to take home a national championship. And with only one player heading to the WNBA Draft, Fulwiley and the Gamecocks could be a force for years to come.
