The New York Giants have some decisions to make ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft. Do they stick with Daniel Jones or do they draft a top quarterback if available? What’s the deal with Saquon Barkley and the running back room?
Pick No. 6 – Jayden Daniels – LSU QB
Personally, I think its time for the Giants to move on from Danny Dimes. He’s only played one full season, and this season didn’t live up to the big extension that he was given. With Jones at the helm, the Giants have gone 22-36-1. That’s not a winning formula. The former Tiger, Daniels, would give the Giants something that they haven’t really seen before. A mobile quarterback who can also sling the ball. The fans would and should be ecstatic.
Pick No. 39 – Xavier Worthy – Texas WR
One of the Giants’ biggest needs happens to be one of the most extravagant positions in this draft class. The Giants need to rebuild their entire offense. The only position that could get away not adding someone at is Tight End. Worthy is an efficient route runner and would work well with a QB like Jayden Daniels. At the NFL level, he should be an elite slot receiver.
Pick No. 47 – Kalen King – Penn State CB
With an influx of defensive backs in the 2024 draft and everyone needing one. King likely won’t fall this far, but if he does the Giants need to grab him. Corner was arguably the biggest hole on the Giants’ defense in 2023. King is a prolific playmaker who would do well in the NFL. He took a step backward in his production this last season. Only deflected two passes and recorded no interceptions.
Pick No. 70 – Kiran Amegdajie – Yale OT
The 2024 NFL Draft is stacked on both sides of the trenches. For the Giants, there’s bigger holes to fill but adding several linemen later on in the draft wouldn’t be a bad option. Amegadjie doesn’t get the dues he deserves because he plays in the FCS. Before his injury, he was dominant in protecting his QB.
Pick No. 107 – Dominik Puni – Kansas OT
I think Puni gets overlooked due to being on a team like Kansas. He was First Team All-Big 12 Offensive Tackle in 2023, finishing with 12 starts at left tackle. He has great footwork, heavy hands and a wide-bodied frame which allow him to play with control and power.
Pick No. 139 – Roger Rosengarter – Washington OL
The Husky product may move inside at the next level. Per PFF, he received a 86.7 pass grade, which was the sixth-best amongst any Pac-12 lineman in 2023. On the outside, he allowed Penix to have a lot of time in the pocket. If he can transition that to the inside then it could work out well for the Giants.
Pick No. 184 – Sheridan Jones – Clemson CB
The Giants had one of the worst secondaries in the NFL in 2023. If they want to compete next season, they need to find some replacements in the secondary. The former fifth-year senior could provide some leadership. He can be trusted in both man and zone coverage and he knows where to be as a defender.
