NHL Postpone Return

The NHL postpones their return to play in a news breaking release. They have decided to change the return to play date from Monday the 27th to Tuesday the 28th. Players are expected to still return to their team’s facilities for practice on the 26th.

Since this postponement is only a single day, it’s presumed this has something to do with scheduling more than it does players and Covid cases. The NHL reached out to organizations to get arena availabilities for the remainder of the season earlier in the week. That includes the weeks reserved for the Olympics that players are now no longer allowed to attend. Those three weeks opens up the prospect of schedule realignment for all teams meaning if everything works out, the NHL should be able to finish a full season still.

This is a developing story, any more information will be shared.
