Notre Dame had another outstanding season by going 11-2 and going to the Fiesta Bowl. With that outstanding season, Notre Dame will be losing a couple of big players to the NFL draft. This means that they will need to find players that can replace these players and hopefully in time for their huge first game of the next season. Let’s take a look at the players that Notre Dame will be missing next year because of the NFL draft.

Kyle Hamilton-Safety

Kyle Hamilton declared for the draft before the Fiesta Bowl which he opted out of. Hamilton was injured about halfway through the season but is one of the top safeties going into this draft class. So it’s not surprising that he would declare for the draft. Hamilton had a pretty outstanding career at Notre Dame, where he had 138 total tackles and eight interceptions. Being 6’4″ and 220 pounds, he is above average for most safeties in the NFL. Luckily for Notre Dame, they had a backup that played the position well.

Kyren Williams-Running Back

Kyren Williams is another player that declared before the Fiesta Bowl and he opted out of the bowl also. Williams is coming off another year of 1,000 plus rushing yards and also another 10 plus touchdown season. He has 2,153 total rushing yards and 27 rushing touchdowns. He also has 78 catches for 675 receiving yards and scored four receiving touchdowns. Williams is a smaller running back and will need a good combine and pro day to show that he is a good running back. He is 5’9″ and 199 pounds and NFL teams will question his ability to be a run-downhill running back.

Others That Might Declare

Cam Hart is a cornerback and had an average season with 24 solo tackles and two interceptions. Jarrett Patterson is the center and definitely will be missed at the center because he is the glue to the offensive line. Isaiah Foskey is a defensive lineman and had 38 solo tackles and 11 sacks this season. All these players will be missed and hopefully, be able to find a team in the NFL that is a good fit for them.
