The Oregon Ducks have seen their fair share of transfers into and out of a program over the last couple of seasons. Whether it be in football, basketball or another sport. Now, Te-Hina Paopao joins that list per a report by the Oregonian’s James Crepea, Monday.
Paopao played and started in 35 games during the 2022-2023 season and 13.1 points, 3.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game. She finished the year shooting 42.4% from three-point range and 44% from the floor, both career highs. Throughout her time in Eugene, Paopao has averaged 12.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game, shooting 38% from three-point range and 42% from the floor. Proving herself to be one of the top players for Kelly Graves since her arrival in 2020, earning All-Pac-12 First Team honors in 2021 and 2022.
A season ago, the Ducks saw Sydney Parrish and a few others enter the transfer portal. This season Te-Hina Paopao joins Endiya Rogers as the two major departures. After Rogers announced that she was entering the 2023 WNBA Draft. The Ducks also lose seniors Taya Hansen, Ahlise Hurst and Taylor Hosendove after they exhausted their collegiate eligibility in a season that ended with a loss to the Washington Huskies in the WNIT quarterfinals.
Paopao was the last remaining player from Oregon’s proclaimed ‘Fab Five’, a group that also featured: Maddie Scherr (Kentucky), Sydney Parrish (Indiana), Kylee Watson (Notre Dame) and Angela Dugalic (UCLA). The Junior (Paopao) will have two years of eligibilty remaining with her next school.
