Unless you have been living under a rock the past few months, you should know that Singer/Songwriter Taylor Swift is dating arguably the greatest tight end in football. Maybe one of the greatest of all time… Travis Kelce. All eyes have been on those two. Many fans have said that’s sickening. Pat McAfee states the opposite.
“The most successful woman on earth right now happens to be dating the greatest tight end of all time… Why is everybody so mad about it? I’m sick of people being mad about it… Taylor (Swift) is a part of the football world now. This is good news, not bad news.” – Pat McAfee
At the beginning, when the relationship just started, you could say that it was a little much. Both Kelce and Swift were in the eyes of both the media and fans. It’s now come to a point where Taylor is just being harassed. After the AFC Championship, where Kelce’s Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens, the Ravens fans stated that Taylor is “ruining football.” McAfee has a point. What are we even mad about at this point?
Are we mad about the camera panning to Taylor Swift every time Travis Kelce makes a catch? Are we mad that more people are watching a football game to catch Taylor Swift? The hatred has gone too far. It’s not needed at this point. Swift is one of, if not, the most successful women in the world. After the game, we saw that they were actually in love.
Taylor is a global phenomenon, not just in the United States. In the world, CBS may show Swift on TV quite a bit. However, fans from all over the world will be tuning in which will increase the views for the NFL. Taylor is selling out crowds and increasing TV revenue. The assumption can be made that cameras will show Swift at the Super Bowl. How is that a bad thing though?
