New England Patriots Expected To Part Ways With Bill Belichick

We knew that the moment would come when Bill Belichick would no longer be part of the Patriots. Not only, with Tom Brady leaving for Tampa Bay and finally retiring. Another reason is because the NFL Coaches are getting younger and Belichick can’t keep up. Earlier today, a report was made that Robert Kraft will indeed be letting the 71-year-old GM and Head Coach go.

“When they came out of Germany, conversations I had that week made it very clear that a decision was made,” Curran said. “They were going to play out the string, and at the end of the year, there would be a parting of the ways for a variety of reasons.”

The Patriots have had more of an up-and-down season than any other team in the NFL. At the beginning of the season, despite a 1-2 start, they looked like they could be someone. They looked like a decent team, they were competing with some of the better teams this season. That’s when the script flipped though, the Patriots had proceeded with a 1-8 record with a stagnant offense.

“Just because they won last week in Pittsburgh in primetime, I don’t think it quells anything,” Curran said.

The one win might not change things and it’s unclear if — in theory — more wins could. All decisions are technically subject to change before they are decided. If the Patriots win their final four games (Chiefs, at Broncos, at Bills, Jets), that could potentially spark a reversal. Even a 3-1 record down the stretch might prompt Kraft to continue a relationship between the New England Patriots and Bill Belichick.

Regardless of the outcome of the final weeks, it will be dissapointing. The Pats will end with a losing record and a potentially a Top 5 pick. Though, another important thing would be what Belichick wants, does he want to stay with the Pats or go elsewhere?

There’s a lot to be considered, but it appears Robert Kraft may have the decision made.
