If you are not a current subscriber of Peacock Premium, you will have to open up your wallet if you are going to watch the Bills take on the Chargers this Saturday. However, Peacock is enticing fans to pay the $5.99 a month by giving viewers commercial-free fourth quarter football for the game.

Unless you are in Los Angeles or Buffalo (the game will be on the NBC affiliates in those markets), Peacock will be the only place fans can watch the game. It will be the first time an NFL game will be exclusively streamed on the platform. It is also the first time the NFL will have a commercial-free fourth quarter.

With no commercials in the fourth quarter, NBC promises a 40% reduction in ads, replaced with at least 12 more minutes of content related to the game.

“We are proud to work with our partners at the NFL to present this first-of-its-kind experience,” Rick Cordella, NBC Sports president, said. “NBC Sports’ best-in-class NFL production, Peacock’s fan-friendly viewer experience, and this innovative advertising model will allow NFL fans an exciting new way to watch the game’s conclusion.”

Instead of filling time with commercials, Peacock will have additional game content, including special content takeovers, studio updates, game features, and booth analysis.

The Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Chargers game will kick off at 8 p.m. ET Saturday. Earlier in the day, the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers battle in a game that will be on NBC.

In addition to Saturday’s game, Peacock will exclusively stream a wild-card playoff game in January. The game will also feature commercial-free fourth quarter football.

The news will likely have mixed reactions from fans. On the one hand, not having to sit through commercials sounds good, but on the other hand, NFL fans already pay enough to follow the sport and do not want to hand over any more money to the league.
