It is no secret that the Baltimore Ravens offensive line struggled this past season. Injuries and inconsistent play led to the Ravens allowing the second-most sacks in the league (57), only behind the Chicago Bears (58). The key to getting back on track on offense starts with building a dominant o-line.
Projected 2022 Starters
All-Pro Ronnie Stanely should be returning to lock of the Left Tackle position. Kevin Zeitler is a lock to return at Right Guard. The Left Guard position will be manned by either Tyre Phillips or Ben Powers, the Ravens are banking on one of them to step up their game. The hole at Center and Right Tackle should be filled by two of the following players.
Ryan Jensen, C
Jensen has played Center for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers since 2018. He spent his years in the NFL before that on the Baltimore Ravens. Well-known for being extremely physical and nasty, Jensen could provide the spark and grit that the Ravens have been missing since Marshal Yanda retired. He is projected to get a 3-year, $30-million contract which would be affordable for the Ravens.
Trevor Penning, Northern Iowa, OT
With the 14th pick in the NFL draft, the Baltimore Ravens could choose to address their offensive line. If they did, Trevor Penning would be a wise choice. At 6’7, 330lbs, Penning is a monster of a man. He has the mentality to match, as he is extremely nasty and physical as a blocker. He explodes off the line extremely well and is agile out in space. Additionally, he is firey and competitive, something that was very noticeable throughout the Senior Bowl practices.
Tyler Linderbaum, Iowa, C
Tyler Linderbaum’s claim to fame lies within his technique. He has steadily improved his craft every single year in college and has played his way into being a first-round pick. There are no glaring weaknesses in his game as he is great in both the run and pass game. A huge advantage that he brings is as a former wrestler, Tyler understands how to use leverage to gain an advantage as a blocker.
