Is Ring of Honor Hurting AEW?

Ring of Honor (ROH) was purchased in March of 2022 by Tony Khan, the owner of All Elite Wrestling. Since that time, we have seen countless Ring of Honor wrestlers flood both Dynamite and Rampage from week to week. This has left many questions surrounding the decision-making of the writers, and even Tony Khan himself in certain aspects.

At first what seemed like a cool collaboration, quickly turned into a series of rematches and storylines with very little interest. The idea of having these two companies interact is a great one and should be capitalized on, but there needs to be a lot more time and structure to make this work. Ring Of Honor desperately needs its television show and it’s becoming more and more prevalent as the weeks progress. Tony Khan is continuously signing more and more wrestlers each week to brand new contracts, without properly utilizing the talent he already has backstage. The once great show I looked forward to watching every week, has unfortunately lost the magic with Ring of Honor playing a major fact in that.

What Should Tony Khan Do Next?

AEW Rampage should be completely repackaged into a sole ROH show. The match quality and storylines will each mean so much more when they aren’t intertwined with a different company. This change will also give Ring of Honor that fresh new feeling it has so desperately needed since the buyout. With the likes of Chris Jericho, Samoa Joe, and FTR at the helm holding each Championship, the viewership should remain consistent with the combination of both fan bases. Tony Khan has all the talent and resources to put out consistently great television every week, but everything falls on his execution at this point going forward.
