Ring announcer Samantha Irvin announced her departure from the WWE in a post to her X account prior to Monday Night RAW. Irvin began her tenure in WWE in 2021 as a ring announcer for 205 Live. From there, she rose up the ranks to become the lead ring announcer, iconically breaking into tears while announcing Cody Rhodes’ championship victory.
Samantha Irvin’s goodbye
Irvin thanked everyone, from the WWE fans to the women’s locker room to the production crew. “You are the most incredible group of people on the face of this Earth. I am beyond proud to be your colleague and friend,” she wrote in her post.
She then thanked WWE wrestlers who she said she was thankful for since 1989 in a way she could not fully put into words. “There is no form of entertainment like this,” she wrote, “and not just every entertainer can be a WWE Superstar.”
Finally, she gave props to Paul Heyman, Michael Cole, Michael Hayes, and Mark Henry among other individuals for all the help they gave her throughout her career. With that, her time in WWE has come to a close, with her next avenue to be determined.
Who replaces her?
Fightful Select learned of a certain former WWE ring announcer’s presence backstage for tonight’s Monday Night RAW in Philadelphia. Lillian Garcia, who appeared earlier in the year, may be back as the ring announcer for Monday Night RAW. While nothing is confirmed yet, the conclusion that can be drawn is she will take over ring announcing duties, at least for now.
