Titans 2024 NFL Draft

The 2023 season didn’t go like anyone would have expected. While the Titans did find their new franchise QB in Will Levis. The rest of the season was a disappointment. Heading into the 2024 NFL Draft, the Titans have many spots on their roster that need to be answered.

Pick No. 7 – Joe Alt – Notre Dame OT

In just nine games, Levis was sacked 28 times. The Titans need to get better at protecting him to see what he can truly do with more time. In 2023, the Titans had arguably the worst offensive line in the NFL. Bringing in a guy like Joe Alt could help. He didn’t allow a single sack in 2023 and recorded a run-block grade of 91.0. He’s a unanimous All-American LT and will do wonders for whichever franchise he lands with.

Pick No. 38 – Chris Braswell – Alabama LB

The linebacker position isn’t a huge need for the Titans. They have the position covered with the Harold Landry and Arden Key on the outsides. However, Braswell could move to the Edge in the NFL and still be successful. He finished the 2023 season with 42 total tackles, 10.5 of those came for a loss. He also added eight sacks. Braswell has great awareness in case the Titans would need to deploy him to cover a TE as well as a top-tier closing speed and long arms that allow him to get to the QB.

Pick No. 136 – Donovan Jackson – Ohio State OG

There’s a theme here, can you sense it? The Titans need help on both sides of the trenches. On the offensive side of the ball, the Titans need help all throughout the line. Jackson is a guy that Titans fans would be ecstatic to get. Already a fan favorite among many on X/Twitter. Jackson regressed a little bit in 2023. According to his grades, he still passed over 70 in the pass block but finished under that in the run block.

Pick No. 144 – Chau Smith-Wade – Washington State CB

Adding some depth to the secondary room may not be a bad option for the Titans when it comes to the later rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft. There are a lot of players in the secondary to be drafted. Smith-Wade may be one of the best of them as he held opposing QBs to a rating of 77.3 when targeted.

Pick No. 183 – Mohammed Kamara – Colorado State DE

Going back to the trenches, Kamara could be a solid pass rusher in the NFL. In 2023, he had 56 total tackles, including 17 TFL and 13 sacks. A pairing of Braswell and Kamara would instantly make the Titans better at the position. They only have Rashad Weaver under contract heading into 2024.

Pick No. 218 – Kitan Oladapo – Oregon State CB

A multi-year starter for Oregon State, Oladapo has the size and strength to be good in any team’s secondary. He could transition to safety due to his size. He’s a physical defender who seeks out contact. Oladapo excels in the run game and is sufficient in the pass.

Pick No. 239 – Theo Johnson – Penn State TE

With their last pick of the draft, the Titans could grab one of their biggest needs. Obviously, Brock Bowers is the best tight end in the draft. However, there are many available towards the back half. Johnson played all 12 games for Penn State in 2023, catching 32 passes for 325 yards and 6 TDs.
