The Houston Astros Have Been Perfect So Far This October.

Tonight, the Houston Astros are looking to advance to the World Series after gaining a 3-0 lead on the New York Yankees. The Astros are making their sixth consecutive ALCS appearance. Houston has been an unstoppable force this October. After sweeping the Seattle Mariners in the ALDS and going up 3-0 on the Yankees, The Astros have a perfect record of 6-0 so far this postseason. Tonight’s game three matchup brings Lance McCullers Jr. against Nestor Cortes.

The Astros may have the most complete roster in Major League Baseball. Houston has brought a rotation of Justin Verlander, Christian Javier, and Lance McCullers Jr. And with the bullpen being one of the most lethal in baseball, the Astros’ pitching staff has a lot of depth to go against their opponents. But Houston’s lineup may even be scarier than their pitching staff. Yordan Alvarez is turning into one of the best postseason hitters we’ve seen in a long time. With a career postseason OPS of .838 and already two home runs this October, Yordan Alvarez might deliver the nail in the Yankees coffin tonight.

The Yankees Are Hoping to Stay Alive Another Day

The Yankees are struggling to put anything together. In the first three games of this series, Yankees batters have combined for 41 strikeouts in the first three games against Houston. Not only are the strikeouts bad, but New York’s most important hitter has yet to show up in October. American League Home Run Champion and Yankees right fielder, Aaron Judge is batting only .156 this postseason and is 1 for 12 in the ALCS.

The Yankees know that their season may be over, but they also know that it is possible to comeback from a 3 game deficit. There has been only one team to come back from 3-0 in the ALCS in history, and that was the Red Sox in 2004 against the Yankees. Will we see history again with a comeback for the ages? Or will the Astros once again return to the World Series to try to win it all?
