The Hawks are known for their raucous crowds. But, that won’t be the only thing in their favor this upcoming game. Adding an additional two days of prep will prove to be a time benefit. And for the upcoming divisional game against the second-place Rams, they’ll need all the man power they can muster. Here’s a quick break down of the situation.

What’s The Deal?

First, the NFL is letting up on the COVID protocols. Asymptomatic players that don’t exhibit COVID-19 conditions within a one-day span experience the time benefit first, as they’re key components. Kerry Hyder Jr., starters Alex Collins and Tyler Lockett have been added to the restricted list as of Thursday. For the Hawks, this is a potential recipe for disaster.

Mixed Feelings.

Next, there’s an element of surprise up until game day. Veteran cornerback D.J. Reed was also present on that list of newly added players. This is a blow to a surging defense coming off of statement wins against the 49ers and Texans. Monday will be the dealbreaker. In addition, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll was asked to comment about what kind of an impact he thought the departures would have on the game.

“We’ll Be Ready.”

Furthermore, Carroll’s comments were lukewarm, and expressive in disappointment. But, he reinforced that the team was not going to let the scheduling change be an excuse for not playing up to par. “Judging from today, they’re ready to go.”, said Carroll when he was asked about their status on Friday. D.K. Metcalf and Quandre Diggs were listed as limited participants for a boost on offense and defense. In conclusion, with the looming return of stars like Odell Beckham Jr. and Jalen Ramsey from the list, Seattle will need to lock in and make things count if they want to play spoiler and salvage an underwhelming season.
