Ty Dillon, the grandson of legendary NASCAR owner Richard Childress, will drive in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2024. Dillon will drive the No. 25 Chevrolet for the Rackley W.A.R. team. He will replace Matt DiBenedetto who drove the truck for Rackley W.A.R. in the team’s first two seasons in existence. It’s the first time Dillon has driven full time in the truck series since 2013.

Move From DiBenedetto to Dillon

Rackley W.A.R. President and COO Willie Allen announced Dillon as the new driver Friday calling him an “exceptional talent” and a “perfect fit” to help elevate the team. Dillon called the opportunity an “honor” and said he was excited to get back to the series where he first jumped into NASCAR.

Meanwhile, the Rackley W.A.R. team’s move away from Matt DiBenedetto was a bit surprising since he won a race in his first season with the team and made the playoffs in his second season. But the team and driver parted ways with three races left in the season after being eliminated from the playoffs finishing in ninth places overall.

Ty Dillon Stats

Ty Dillon drove full time in the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series from 2017 to 2020 for Germain Racing and then again in 2022 and 2023 for Spire Motorsports. While Dillon never found victory lane in the Cup Series, but has won once in the Xfinity Series and twice in the Craftsman Truck Series. In 2013, Dillon also finished second in the Truck Series standings. Dillon started a combined 58 truck series races over the years and has recorded 20-top five finishes and 36-top ten finishes. Dillon also raced two season in the ARCA Menards series winning nine races and the 2011 ARCA Championship.

Rackley Roofing will sponsor the truck in 16 races during the 2024. Right now, there’s no word on who will sponsor the truck in the remaining races.
