The UFC is back this weekend with it’s second straight absolutely stacked card. In the most iconic venue in combat sports, Madison Square Garden, we’ll see two title fights along with numerous high stakes match-ups for UFC 268. Headlining will be a rematch for the 170 pound title between champion Kamaru Usman, and long time rival Colby Covington. Co-headlining is another title rematch, this one between champion Rose Namajunas and Zhang Weili for the 115 pound title. Add to that guys like Frankie Edgar, Michael Chandler, Justin Gaethje, Billy Quarantillo, and MMA fans are in for a fun night.

Justin Gaethje vs Michael Chandler

The main card is going to start off with a bang. To avoid making coach Trevor Wittman go three fights in a row, these top 5 lightweights will be kicking off the card. Expect fireworks for as long as this one lasts. These guys have a similar fighting style that makes for a very exciting bout. They both fight constantly moving forward. So MMA fans around the world are expecting a head on collision between these two.

Rose Namajunas vs Zhang Weili

The first championship rematch of the night sees “Thug” Rose Namajunas defend her title against the woman she took it from, Zhang Weili. However, even with that victory, Namajunas finds herself as the betting underdog in this fight. While Namajunas is well aware of that, she has not let it phase her. Saying at the pre-fight press conference that it doesn’t affect her and she still feels that she’s the best. Meanwhile for Weili, she spent this training camp with former two division champ and Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo. Even though the last fight was somewhat quick, fans can expect nothing less than a high class match-up in this one.

Kamaru Usman vs Colby Covington

The main event is a massive grudge match between the two best 170 pound fighters on the planet. Kamaru Usman will be looking to make the 5th defense of his welterweight title against number one ranked Colby Covington. These two first met back in December of 2019, a fight that was won in the 5th round by Usman. While the champion has been more active since then, both fighters have clearly improved since their first fight. Covington was able to beat former champion Tyron Woodley pretty handily. While Usman has two victories over Jorge Masvidal and one against Gilbert Burns since then. Two of which were finishes. Expect a barn burner in this headliner.

UFC 268 has a unique opportunity to go down as one of the most iconic events in UFC history. Similar cards at MSG in the past have made their mark. UFC 205 and UFC 217 come to mind as examples of cards that made their mark in this iconic arena. This card has all the makings to make it’s mark as well.
