Given how well the Dallas Mavericks performed last season, Luka Dončić will inevitably have the best chance to win MVP in 2025. He has some of the highest viewership around the league, with constant long-distance shots, ankle-breakers, and cross-court assists.
In 70 games last season, Dončić averaged a league-high 33.9 points, 9.8 assists, and 9.2 rebounds while shooting 48.7% from the field and 38.7% from three-point land. These numbers are exceptional for a young point guard hoping to defy the odds.
If Dallas finished with an exceptional record, Dončić would have won the first MVP of his career. However, because the Mavericks were the fifth seed, other finalists received higher consideration for the prominent award.
The Mavericks’ front office has put Dončić in a position to take home the award next season with several quality additions. They have added youth, athleticism, and experience to fight with Western Conference contenders. Dončić will undoubtedly claim his spot in the history books if Dallas’ hopes pan out accordingly.
