Earlier this month, the Minnesota Vikings released a two-time pro bowler, Adam Thielen. Now it appears that the Wisconsin native has found a new home in Carolina.
Per multiple sources, Thielen has signed a three-year deal with the Panthers. The franchise appears to be gearing up for a run with their future QB, who they will presumably take with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. They’ll most likely hope for that quarterback to become a franchise-leading caliber player. The Panthers may not be done either, they apparently want D.J. Chark as well. Thielen visited Carolina on Wednesday. Chark became a free agent last week, after spending his first four seasons in Jacksonville and his fifth, 2022, in Detroit. He visited the Panthers on Friday.
The Panthers currently have six receivers under contract, including Terrace Marshall, Jr., Lavishka Shenault, and Shi Smith. Though, there are some question marks surrounding both Adam Thielen and Chark. For the former, it’s age. For the latter, injuries. Though, according to Pat McAfee, Thielen feels great.
Whatever they do, the Panthers need an accomplished and talented group of receivers. They have one, now, with Thielen.
More to come.
