Over 10,000 players have opted to have their names featured in the new EA Sports College Football 25 video game. On Monday Night, Anwar Richardson reported that you won’t be able to play as Arch Manning in the new video game.

The reasoning makes no sense really. He doesn’t want to be on the game, so that he can focus on the upcoming season??? You’re going to opt out of a video game that would make you $600 and a free copy? Not to mention people will be mad because they can’t play as you in the game. I’d love to see an explanation from Arch Manning or someone from his camp.

The nephew of former NFL Quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Eli Manning was a five-star recruit who chose Texas over powerhouses like LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Alabama among many other suitors. Instead of opting into the video game and allowing fans to play as him, Arch Manning is looking to focus on real football. Needless to mention, he’s likely to be the backup to Quinn Ewers once again in 2024.

In 2023, he made a few appearances but accumulated just 30 yards on five pass attempts. I don’t know why he or anyone would opt out of the game. Everyone who enjoys sports will be playing this game. By the time the game comes out, the players who are opting out will realize they’ve made a mistake.

This is expected to be the most sought-after video game in quite some time. Personally, I don’t really care which backup players opt out now. It’ll be fun to play with the 10,000+ players who have confirmed their involvement.
