The Cincinnati Bengals dominated the Buffalo Bills in a 27-10 victory to set a date for an AFC Championship rematch.

Run Game Makes the Difference

After both teams passing games were hyped up all week, the Bengals run game propelled them to the AFC Championship. Running back Joe Mixon rushed for 105 yards as a banged-up Cinncianti offensive line opened up lanes for Mixon numerous times. The Bengals outrushed their opponent with 173 yards, while the Bills rushed for 64 yards. The lack of a run game from the Bills was an issue throughout the season and showed up mightly as quarterback Josh Allen was under constant pressure to move the ball down the field.

Bills Once Again Can’t Get Over the Hump

For the third year in a row, the Bills are eliminated after being the 2022 Super Bowl favorites. A year of what could’ve been for Buffalo as the organization went out to acquire linebacker Von Miller, but Miller tore his ACL and missed the rest of the season. His absence was shown against Cinncinatti as the Bills pass rush couldn’t reach Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. The Bills will again go into the offseason with disappointment and reload to contend for the 2023 season.

Familiar Faces Set to Battle Again

The AFC Championship will feature a rematch of last year’s game as the Bengals travel to take on the Kansas City Chiefs. Unlike last year the Bengals won’t be labeled underdogs as Burrow will look to make his second Super Bowl appearance in only his third season. On the other side, the health of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be questioned as the Chiefs offense will be hobbled. These teams played on another Dec. 4, where the Bengals won 27-24 in a game without Mixon due to injury.
