The Philadelphia Eagles dominated the New York Giants in a 38-7 Divisional Round playoff victory to host the NFC Championship.

Run Eagles Run

The Eagles run game was in full force as Philadelphia totaled 268 rushing yards, with running back Kenneth Gainwell leading the way with 112 yards. With one of the best offensive lines in the NFL, the Eagles could move down the field effectively and chew up the clock leaving the Giants hopeless. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts didn’t have to move the ball through the air, with only 154 passing yards while rushing for 34 yards. The run-first offense opened up the game in a hurry with a first-half lead of 28-0 as Eagles starting running back Miles Sanders would rest in the fourth quarter after rushing for 90 yards.

Talent Gets the Best of the Giants

After the Giants based their team around grit and toughness throughout the season, talent finally got the best of New York. Quarterback Daniel Jones struggled to move the ball downfield with 135 passing yards and being sacked five times. Along with running back Saquon Barkley being shut down for 61 rushing yards. The Giants will go into the offseason hoping to load up on talent to go along with Jones and Barkley, as a more talented Eagles team bested them in the Divisional Round.

Offseason Additions Make the Difference

This offseason, the Eagles added cornerback James Bradberry and linebacker Haason Reddick to their defense, with both players making critical plays throughout the game. Reddick totaled five tackles and 1.5 sacks, while Bradberry intercepted Jones. Philadelphia’s high-flying defense made it difficult for New York to move the ball from the kick-off, and they will look to do the same next weekend to win the NFC Championship.
