The Jets couldn’t fully celebrate their victory over the Broncos because of Breece Hall‘s Injury. The Jets rookie running back injured his knee while being tackled at the sideline by a couple of Broncos defenders. The rookie running back was having a sensational year so far.
Hall was having an amazing day rushing for 72 yards on four carries. One being a 62 yard touchdown where he made the defense look slow as Hall reached speeds over 20 mph. His speed of 21.87 mph is the fastest of any ball carrier this season.
After coming down on his leg wrong while being tackled the rookie was carted off the field. Jets coach Robert Saleh said “the initial diagnosis isn’t good”. They will perform an MRI on Monday to officially diagnose the severity of Breece Hall’s Injury. The word out now though is that it’s an ACL tear. If so that will end the running backs season.
Hall has been balling out up to this point being the first Jets player since 2009 to record a touchdown in four straight games. He has recorded 681 yards from scrimmage. That’s the fourth most by any Jets player in the last 20 years.
“He’s a heck of a football player” coach Robert Saleh said. ” When you lose great football players it’s not good.” If Hall does miss the rest of the season it will be up to his backups to step up. Without Hall the Jets will rely on last year’s leading rusher Michael Carter, Ty Johnson who hasn’t seen many snaps, and rookie Zonovan Knight if they call him up from the practice squad.
All Jets fans can do now is watch and see if their team can keep winning without Hall. New York relies heavily on the run game. Once the results are back from the MRI, then we will know if it is indeed a torn ACL. For now all we can do is wait a hope he has a speedy recovery.
