Cleveland Browns vs New York Jets can make history for this week 2 matchup. Account on the side of the Browns, who can start 2-0 for the first time since 1993. Bill Belichick was the head coach. However, hopefully, this team can avoid the final season record that the 1993 team posted. That team started 5-2 and lost 7 of the last 9 games for a conclusive record of 7-9. Albeit this team is completely different than that team. Heading into week 2 the team overall is looking for more continuity. A win in week 1 but there are still things that need to be cleaned up.

Browns Offense

For the Cleveland Browns offense this week the need will be for Jacoby Brissett to play a bit more effectively throughout the game. If he can spread the ball around to more of his receivers. The offense needs to clean up the confusion of pre-snap mistakes of not knowing where to line up. For the Browns, the offense should keep running the ball and having positive a effect on the offense. Running the ball is the strength of the team right now and will continue to be needed for the next 10 weeks.

Browns Defense

This Cleveland Browns defense showed just how dominant they can really be last week in the win over the Panthers. The defense needs to clean up the miscommunication between the secondary. Outside of the 3 plays Cleveland gave up they held the Panthers offense in check. Only allowing 16 yards of total offense through the first quarter is as dominant as it gets. For the Jets offense, there is nothing specific this team does fantastically. Defensive coordinator Joe Woods will like to rush Joe Flacco who isn’t very mobile at this point in his career. If this unit can limit mistakes and create turnovers then the Browns can win in a dominant fashion.

Special Teams

This unit needs to clean up the punt return game. Demtric Felton looked very shaky on his ability to catch punts. For a team who is running back rich, Dernest Johnson could get the call to take over punt-catching duties. The special teams need to help out the defense by flipping field position or setting up the offense with great field position to set up the offense. Lastly, if Cade York can continue his growth as a rookie and put him in a better position for kicks.

Jets

The New York Jets will look for their first win of the season against the Browns. The Jets have a solid defense. With the secondary and defensive line being the strength of that unit. Offensively they’ll look to continue running the ball and affect the game like that. On defense, the Jets will try slowing the run game down and limiting what Jacoby Brissett can do.

Conclusion

The Cleveland Browns can go 2-0 for the first time in over a decade. If this team can play clean football they should decisively win against the Jets. Defense limits mistakes and the offense continues running the ball effectively. Myles Garrett has the ability to break the franchise sack record today with only needing 4. This Jets offense may be the right team to allow the record to be broken. The Browns will go 2-0. The final score 27-13 Browns will win.
