Carlos Henrique Casemiro, commonly known as Casemiro completed his move to Premier League giants Manchester United in the most recent summer transfer window. His final game at the club was an appearance off the bench against Almeria in the club’s first La Liga game of the season.

The transfer was completed quickly as both parties came to an agreement with ease. Casemiro wanted to leave the club for a new experience and the club were happy to let him do so. Especially with the acquisition of Aurelien Tchouameni in the summer. Tchouameni was bought as Casemiro’s long-term replacement. This season, fans expected him to be gradually exposed to first-team football at the club. Identically to his French teammate Eduardo Camavinga. However, Casemiro’s transfer sped up the entire process and Tchouameni is now a starter at Real Madrid.

After an early adaptation period at the start of his Premier League journey, the Brazilian grew into life in a new league. He’s now unquestionably a fan favorite and a leader in the dressing room. He even opened the scoring for his team in the Carabao Cup Final which gave him an even bigger place in the fans’ hearts.

The Interview

In an exclusive video with TeamViewer, Casemiro expressed his admiration for the league, saying,

“Well, honestly, it’s different.”

“Especially because of the different circumstances, like the intensity of the games here.”

“I’m not trying to underestimate La Liga, but the games here are much more difficult, there’s a higher number of transitions.”

My Opinion

It’s completely normal for Real Madrid, and to an extent, La Liga fans to feel slightly offended by this statement. The Premier League, according to a Real Madrid legend, is “much more difficult” than La Liga. But then, that’s his opinion.

Eden Hazard and Phillipe Coutinho came to La Liga and struggled immensely. Even though they performed at a high level in England. The two attackers were superstars on English soil but struggled to adapt or simply perform in Spain. Nevertheless, this shows that both leagues are special in their own way and people can formulate different opinions based on their experiences.

Above all, Casemiro’s legendary status will never change and it’s great to see him enjoying his football and getting the worldwide recognition he deserves.
