Despite a strong push to enter the play-in tournament, the Houston Rockets made their struggles loud and clear. The current roster has a ridiculous amount of potential, but the absence of a superstar is halting their playoff hopes. Fortunately, Houston holds numerous assets, which they could use to trade for first-option like Paul George.

With the player-option deadline soon approaching, George will likely opt in with the LA Clippers and request a sign-and-trade. LA doesn’t want to offer him a max, and a rising young team like Houston has the assets and draft capital to make an offer.

George is a premiere two-way star, but he has proven to the Clippers’ front office that his age is catching up, causing a detailed injury history. Given that the former steals champion is 34 years old, it is not wise for LA to offer him the deal he desires and rest their championship aspirations on his shoulders; hence, the front office is actively checking in on the trade market.

Landing Paul George sets the Houston Rockets up for years of success.

Paul George brings quite a bit of star power and experience to the Houston Rockets. He is an all-world scorer who can make any pass on the court and defend the league’s top offensive talent. Inserting him next to playmakers like Fred VanVleet and Alperen Sengun puts the Rockets ahead in a stacked Western Conference.

George recently received the ninth all-star nod of his career. He posted excellent averages of 22.6 points and 5.2 rebounds with a 47.1 field goal percentage. Considering his injury history, it is also worth mentioning he only missed eight games.

The potential trade package, which includes promising young talent Jalen Green and two top-notch veterans, Dillon Brooks and Steven Adams, is a win-win for both the Rockets and the Clippers, ensuring an optimistic future for both teams.

Although the Rockets may be trading a respectable amount of talent, they land a high-end superstar who works perfectly with head coach Ime Udoka. This could become a long-term connection as Houston will likely offer George the multi-year max he desires. The sky’s the limit for Udoka’s squad if George initiates a desperate postseason push.
