The rebuild on the defensive front continues for the Los Angeles Rams continues. There have been many reports that Jalen Ramsey would be traded, but the goal was to send the Pro Bowl cornerback where he wants to go. On Sunday, the Rams and Miami Dolphins agreed to a trade that would send Ramsey to South Beach.

The Rams have already released both Bobby Wagner and Leonard Floyd. Though, the moves were needed for the Rams as they were set to be about $9M over the tax threshold. While the Dolphins recently released CB Byron Jones, leaving a hole at the position for Jalen Ramsey to fill.

Ramsey is also getting a new contract as part of the trade, according to NFL Network. He will be on the Dolphins’ books for a fully guaranteed $36.9 million over the next two seasons. He did have three years left on his deal, though an opt-out was there for 2024.

Miami was a playoff team a season ago, as they claimed one of the top Wild Card spots in the AFC. The championship window in South Beach now stays open as Tua Tagoailoa is also getting his fifth-year option picked up. The Dolphins have some key pieces on both sides of the ball.

More to come.
