As we get underway with conference media days. Teams are beginning to take shape and the media is starting to make their selections. The common though process on Oregon is that they’ll be good in 2024, many also think that Oregon will certainly be one of 12 teams chosen. On the Wednesday edition of The Pat McAfee Show, Kirk Herbstreit stated that he may have Oregon winning it all.
Now, Herbstreit didn’t say that he has Oregon winning it all. He said that he “may have them winning it all”.
The Ducks are certainly a team to watch heading into the 2024-25 College Football Season. Dan Lanning loaded up his team up with talent as they head into their first season in the BIG 10. They’ll have a new quarterback at the helm in Dillon Gabriel. Many teams in the conference are heading into a talent development stage. Lanning has a clear vision for what he wants to do with the Oregon in the present and future. He’s turned down every job that he’s been linked to because he’s committed to Oregon.
Lanning and co. have many of their players who were leaders last year returning. Obviously, outside of guys like Khyree Jackson (RIP), Bo Nix, Bucky Irving, Troy Franklin and Jackson Powers-Johnson.
“It’s like the season didn’t happen. No one is talking about Sherrone Moore and Michigan other than their own fans,” he said. “Look out for ol’ Oregon. Look out for the ol’ Oregon Ducks. I may have Oregon winning it all. If you quote me, I said, ‘I MAY have Oregon winning it all.’”
That’s a big prediction to make, but Kirk Herbstreit might not be too far off about Oregon. Granted, the last time the Ducks played a team like Georgia they lost 49-3. That was also Lanning’s first game with the Ducks. Last year, they struggled against the Washington Huskies, who wound up making the National Championship game.
McAfee mentioned that Dan Lanning would be in the studio on Thursday and he’ll definitely respond to Herbstreit’s prediction.
