The Toronto Raptors and Indiana Pacers are finalizing a trade that will send two-time All-Star Pascal Siakam to the Pacers, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The Pacers will send Bruce Brown, Jordan Nwora, and three first-round picks to Toronto in exchange for Siakam. New Orleans is also involved in the deal, sending Kira Lewis Jr. to Toronto and a second-round pick to Indiana.
Indiana is sending two 2024 first-round picks and a 2026 first-round pick to the Raptors in the trade. One of the 2024 first-round picks will be the Pacers’ own, while the other will be the worst of a Jazz, Rockets, Clippers, or Thunder pick. The 2026 first-round pick will be Indiana’s own.
Pascal Siakam received the most attention heading into the trade deadline, with lots of rumors surrounding a possible trade to the Pacers. According to Wojnarowski, Siakam, who can become a free agent in July, is looking forward to joining Indiana and is willing to work with the franchise this summer to sign a new contract.
Siakam’s Agent Comments On The Trade
“I’m excited that Pascal is getting a first class opportunity with the Pacers, being paired with Tyrese and Myles and being coached by a great coach in Rick Carlisle,” Siakam’s agent Todd Ramascar told Andscape. “His future their looks bright there.”
Siakam has spent his entire career with the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors drafted him with the 27th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. This season, Siakam is averaging 22.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game.
Siakam will be teaming up with Tyrese Haliburton to form a star-studded duo. With the deal, the Pacers will look to become one of the top contenders in the Eastern Conference. Indiana is currently sixth in the Eastern Conference with a record of 23-17.
