Aaron Rodgers will lead his team into Philadelphia in a do-or-die situation for the season. Win, and their playoff hopes are slim but still live. Lose, and their playoff hopes are dead. It’ll be the first time the Packers play the Eagles since Jalen Hurts took over the helm at QB. And unlike the Packers, they are viewed as one of the few Super Bowl favorites.

The Packers are well aware of their situation. Even with a win, there is no guarantee they’ll be in the hunt for a wildcard spot when it’s all said and done. Regardless there are a lot of players on the roster with a lot to prove and a lot to gain. Injuries have greatly hampered the roster, but that left the door open for a lot of younger players to prove themselves. Rookies wide receiver Christian Watson and linebacker Quay Walker are no exceptions. Both have had pretty stellar outings over the last couple of games. Watson has tallied 5 touchdowns and Walker has been making tackles all over the field. Edge Kingsley Enagbare has been getting after opposing QBs and guards Zach Tom has filled in well when needed. The play of the rookies/younger players have been one of the few bright spots for this team.

As for the coaching, they have something to prove. Defensive Coordinator Joe Barry in particular has received a ton of flak from fans. Many have questioned his strategy of having the secondary give so much cushion to opposing receivers amongst other complaints. Last game, they got diced up by Ryan Tannehill and their 31st-ranked passing offense at home. One has to wonder if this game isn’t just for those trying to earn roles, but for those who could be in danger of losing them.

And while one team’s QB is struggling with a broken thumb, the other has been having an MVP-caliber season.

The Eagles are coming off of a win vs the Colts sitting with a 9-1 record atop the entire NFC. Everything is working for the pride of Philadelphia. The running game is efficient, the offensive line is one of the best, and receivers AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith continue to produce. On the defensive side of the ball, they are just as good if not better. They did just lose rookie DT Jordan Davis to IR but replaced him with veterans Ndamukong Suh and Linval Joseph. They also have recently traded for Edge Robert Quinn. With Brandon Graham, Fletcher Cox, and Javon Hargrove still playing at high levels, this is an incredibly elite line leading the defense.
