The Premier Lacrosse League season is in full swing. Paul Rabil is the co-founder of the league and is also playing. Rabil is playing for Cannons Lacrosse Club. The team is currently in last place in the standings. The 35 year old Midfielder was traded from Atlas Lacrosse Club prior to the season.

What He’s Done

Rabil was traded since Atlas wanted to get younger. He is leading all Midfielders in points with 19, and goals with 13. He may not be the player he once was, but Rabil is ending the debate that he is no longer elite.

The Cannons opted to pursue players who were proven performers. Head Coach Sean Quirk coached Rabil when he was with the Boston Cannons with Major League Lacrosse. Here is the point breakdown of his season so far:

12 one point goals

1 two point goal

5 assists

On top of all that, he is shooting 45% with 29 shots, and has forced nine turnovers.

GOAT Status

Since the merger between MLL and the PLL, all time records for the leagues are now being counted as pro lacrosse records. During one of the games at Hofstra University on Long Island, Rabill regained the mantle as the all time point leader in the sport. He had the record with Major League Lacrosse but lost it when John Grant Jr. came out of retirement when Rabil transitioned to the PLL and overtook him.

The new record is 644 points which likely won’t be broken anytime soon. The insane numbers will likely lead to an appearance in the All-Star Game, but the Cannons have some major work to do to get back in the playoff race.
