Phillip Grubauer in a surprising move is signing with the Seattle Kraken. The deal for Philipp Grubauer is six years and $35.4 million. Grubauer had been playing with Colorado since coming over after winning the Stanley Cup with Washington. The two sides had been trying to discuss an extension. However, the could not agree to terms.
This adds intrigue to the Seattle goaltender situation. They drafted Vitek Vanecek and Chris Driedger in the expansion draft from Washington and Florida respectively. Many felt that would be the tandem moving forward. Now, we don’t know what to expect from the Kraken. More to come.
