After having the season that Lamar Jackson and the Ravens had, it’s hard to believe that they aren’t going to be crowned champions. Falling short of the defending Super Bowl champions by just a touchdown is devastating but Lamar Jackson doesn’t deserve the disrespect for it.
The Chiefs are a well-coached team with arguably the greatest quarterback of all time. The Chiefs played a better game..kinda. They didn’t dominate the Ravens, the Ravens beat themselves. Two turnovers in the red zone killed the Ravens season but that’s been the story since Lamar has been in the league, he doesn’t protect the ball. However, the Ravens have been in the playoffs every year since they drafted Lamar. To me, the Ravens dominated the Chiefs, they held the best quarterback in the league to zero points in the second half.
Is Lamar Jackson a choke artist? Can he ever be a champion? He’s already an MVP winner, and about to be crowned a second time. Lamar is receiving so much disrespect, but he had better numbers than Patrick Mahomes. The Ravens put up more total yards of offense than the Chiefs.
I’m okay with the interception in the endzone because the Ravens are playing from behind in the AFC Championship game and Lamar is trying to force a bad ball to try and get his team back in it. If Zay Flowers hadn’t fumbled the ball at the goal line, Lamar wouldn’t have had the pressure of being behind and would’ve made smarter decisions, theoretically.
This game would have gone into OT and with the Ravens holding the Chiefs at zero for the second half and having the best kicker ever, I’m not sure the Chiefs are coming out on top. Zay is young, he doesn’t deserve hate for trying to make a play for his team. He was the only WR that Lamar could trust (Nelson Agholor dropped 2 passes that would’ve been 1st downs and OBJ wasn’t getting open). The disrespect that has been thrown at Lamar Jackson needs to stop. Put a future on the Ravens, they aren’t leaving the conversation.
