As the Coaching carousel continues, the Bruins are set to hire Oregon’s Player Personnel & Scouting Consultant Darren Uscher. According to 24/7 Sports Matt Zenitz.

UCLA is expected to name Uscher as their General Manager. According to his LinkedIn profile, Darren Uscher has been with the Ducks for six months in a consultant role. Before that, he had served high-ranking recruiting roles with both the Auburn Tigers and the Boise State Broncos.

The graduate of South Carolina and Georgetown University also spent some time assisting the recruiting team while he was in school. Uscher earned his bachelor’s degree in sport and entertainment management from South Carolina in 2009, and his master’s in sport industry management from Georgetown in 2013. At South Carolina, he served as a Sports Marketing Intern and Assistant. At Georgetown, he served as the Football Director of Operations, Assistant Recruiting Coordinator and Video Coordinator.

Uscher becomes at least the second person on the recruitment staff who has been hired away from Oregon, that we know of. The other being JR Moala, who was hired by in-state rival Oregon State.
