
The USA Women’s Indoor volleyball team took care of Argentina iss their Tokyo debut. The USA Indoor volleyball team swept Argentina in three sets. Set one was a 25-20 victory. Next, set two was 25-19 victory. Finally, set three was also a 25-20 victory. Jordan Thompson, Michelle Bartsch-Hackley, and Justine Wong-Orantes led the way for the US. Thompson had 20 points. MBH had 13. Last, Wong- Orantes had 10.
Argentina could not get anyone going besides Erika Mercado. Mercado ended the night with 14 points. The Argentinian team will have to go back to the drawing board and see what went wrong against the Americans. US head coach Karch Kiraly has his team ready to go. However, there are still some kinks that need to be worked out. Pool play has only just begun, so there is still plenty of time. On the offensive side, they looked good. However, there is always room for improvement. The US comes in as one of the medal favorites.

It was a good start, but the mid-attackers need to come together more and there were a ridiculous number of unforced errors that continued to allow Argentina to get back within reach. It was way closer than it needed to be.
