WWE superstar Ricochet makes his entrance.

WWE superstar Ricochet appears to be on his way out of the company. His contract expires “this summer” and he has not agreed to an extension with WWE. He even lost his WWE Speed Championship on Friday to Andrade in a match that’s set to air this week. What’s next for the “highlight of the night” in WWE and beyond?

Last months in WWE

Ricochet has found himself in the crosshairs of Bron Breakker and his 20 MPH Spears. He had his chest taped up to the Nth degree last week and still got Speared out of his shoes. WWE seems enamored with the trio of Ricochet, Bron, and Ilja Dragunov. Ricochet and Dragunov put on a clinic in their first-round King of the Ring tournament match. Both also have problems with the former fullback’s vicious antics.

It is unclear when Ricochet’s contract expires. For the sake of arbitrary deadlines, assume it’s up after Money In The Bank. Ricochet vs. Bron is one of the qualifying matches for the namesake match. Can the breakout star of the WWE finish what he started or can the former Prince Puma get his revenge? Rick Steiner’s son exploits Ricochet’s weaknesses and goes on to Money In The Bank, but gives his opponent the Kale Dixon treatment post-match. Samantha Irvin watches on in horror. Her husband is loaded onto a stretcher and wheeled off.

Where does he go?

Ricochet will garner a lot of attention from pro wrestling executives around the world. He could return to New Japan Pro-Wrestling and try his hand at a singles run. While he’s done so much in the tag team scene in New Japan, he has never won a singles championship there.

He may also choose to be All Elite. His strength has always been wrestling and AEW caters to in-ring performers over good talkers. His high-flying style meshes well not just with other wrestlers on the roster, but will get the more hardcore wrestling fandom AEW has on his side.

The million-dollar question is what his spot on the card will be. Will Tony Khan have enough faith in Ricochet to win and hold the TNT Championship? Perhaps Ricochet returns to his tag team roots or even his past as a trios competitor. Perhaps PAC will need a new tag partner with Penta’s contract set to expire at summer’s end?

Ricochet also has TNA as an option. The WWE-TNA relationship is blossoming in real time and if Ricochet were to sign with TNA, he could still get to face off against his former coworkers. It’s a company on the rise thanks to the hard work of Josh Alexander and the musical sensation known as Joe Hendry. Regardless, Ricochet will not need to worry about not having a job for long this summer.
