Myles Turner and the Indiana Pacers have agreed to a two-year, $60 million deal that will keep the veteran center in Indiana. Both sides agreed to the contract Saturday afternoon. The contract extension comes after much speculation that Turner may be involved in trade scenarios. Now, that does not seem like a viable option. Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to report the news:

Myles Turner is in the midst of his best season. Currently averaging 17.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.4 blocks and 1.4 assists per contest. The 26-year-old is one of three players this season with at least 50 three-pointers and 75 blocks this season, joining Memphis’ Jaren Jackson Jr. and Milwaukee’s Brook Lopez. The deal reportedly includes a $17 million renegotiation on his 2023 salary, the largest in the history of the NBA, and will pay Turner $20.9 million in 2024 and $19.9 million in ’25.

The Indiana Pacers weren’t predicted to have a good season, but after the emergence of young-star guards Tyrese Haliburton and Bennedict Mathurin, they have changed their trajectory. In his career, Turner had only had four 30-point games prior to this season, though in the 2022-23 campaign, the young big man has already matched that number.

This is breaking news, more to come…
