Rodrygo- 8/10 Goal, assist and showed great maturity to keep his head up and improve throughout the game . This was a big match for the Brazilian and he definitely stood up to be counted.

STARTING XI

Courtois- 6/10 He finished the match with one save which showed that he wasn’t tested much.

Lucas Vasquez- 7.5/10 Impressive performance from LV. Defensively solid and provided width offensively when Rodrygo went into the half spaces.

Rudiger- 7/10 First start at the Bernabeu, first goal for Real Madrid and an overall solid performance. Muriqi gave him some problems in the opening minutes but as the game went on he improved.

Alaba- 6/10 The effort was there, but the quality was missing. Bad day at the office for Alaba but he’ll definitely improve on Wednesday.

Mendy- 5/10 Poor performance from the Frenchman. Didn’t overlap which hindered Vini’s performance. Improvement needed.

Kroos- 7/10 Different role, same Toni. Dictated the tempo of the game and was defensively sound.

Ceballos- 6/10 Was one of our better performances in the first half. Progressed the ball well and won the ball back whenever he gave it away.

Valverde- 7.5/10 Gave away the freekick which led to their goal but made up for it with the goal of the season so far. This is what you get from Fede when you play him in his natural position.

Vini Jr- 6.5/10 Vini was far from his best today but he still caused problems to Mallorca’s defense. Took his goal well and got the fans going with his trickery and passion.

Hazard- 4/10 Understandably struggled as Mallorca gave him no space to work with but when he found the pockets of space, he failed to make things tick.

Nacho- 5/10 Added defensive solidity which gave Alaba the license to go forward.
