We’re baaaaaaaack. Colts vs Raiders was actually a fun game to watch. After all of the noise and controversy with the Colts, they found a way to win 25-20 Sunday against the Raiders. Jeff Saturday is now 1-0 as a head coach and the Colts seem to have more life than they have all year.

Game Recap

Man did the Colts look like an NFL team Sunday in Colts vs Raiders. After a defensive stop, the Colts scored on their first possession. The Colts went up 10-0 and had an early lead for what felt like the first time all season. Matt Ryan got the start and started off the scoring.

Going up 13-7 at half, it began to become a back and forth game. Josh Jacobs would grab the lead in the third for the Raiders, then Jonathan Taylor responded.

Davante Adams would score to then put the Raiders back up in the fourth quarter, then the Colts had three huge plays to help seal the victory.

Stephone Gilmore would then lock up the game by deflecting a ball away from Davante Adams on fourth down to seal the win for the Colts.

Aftermath

Parks Frazier did a good job in his first game as a play caller. While the offense did still have its struggles some and turned over the ball once, this O just had a different vibe. The Oline held up blocks and gave Ryan time. Taylor had holes he could run through. Matt Ryan did a good job taking care of the ball. The defense balled out and also played well. The leadership of Saturday cannot be questioned either. This team responded to so much adversity over the week and in the game. The Colts showed signs that it has now shown all season. This team looked a lot more physical today as well on both sides of the ball. The simplicity and toughness Saturday is bringing to the team might help this team out way more than people thought.

The Colts now are 4-5-1 and just a game out of the 7th seed of the playoffs. If they can put together more games like this, they have a chance to maybe save the season. The Raiders were not a good team, but a win is still a win. This Colts team goes back home next week to take on the Eagles. If the Colts could capture a win or even look competitive in this game, it will go a long way into the confidence of this team going forward. They are right outside the playoffs, and maybe Jeff Saturday will be the key. Everyone wanted to write him off from the jump, but so far Jeff Saturday has not wrote back. Welcome to the NFL coaching world Jeff Saturday.
