Nike became the league’s apparel sponsor in 2016. For the seventh time they have collaborated on the City Edition Jerseys, which this year will be used for the NBA In-Season Tournament.
“We are continuing the tradition of building between court, community and culture with all 30 teams on our City Edition platform,” said Nadia Roohparvar, the NBA’s team brand and product lead. “The City Edition uniforms will be worn on court during all NBA in-season tournament nights — a really great platform to showcase and highlight some of our really amazing City Edition work.”
Earlier this week, the NBA released the new court designs. Now the jerseys have been released.
Featured below are just a few of the coolest city edition jerseys:
“It’s truly amazing to see the growth of the City Edition program over the past seven seasons and how the majority of our teams have taken these stories and brought them to life in arenas through their court designs,” said Hallie Keselman, the equipment and team product lead for NBA events.
Boston Celtics

The Celtics are one of the longest standing teams in the NBA and they’re going back to the roots with their city edition jerseys. There’s a lot of history woven into this uniform dating back to the origin of the game with the peach baskets. The wood grain texture in the panels is reflective of furniture makers and iconic marks in the Post- Reconstruction era in Boston. On the belt buckle, the Celtics uniform will feature a basketball with a clover inside.
Chicago Bulls

The Bulls will be paying tribute to the arena that they won their first three-peat in. Chicago Stadium, AKA The Madhouse on Madison. There are visual inspirations that tie directly to that stadium. The vertical “Chicago” is reflective of the sign that fans would see when they walk in the stadium.
Denver Nuggets

The Nuggets literally sit above the rest at an altitude of 5,280 feet or one mile higher than sea level. In pursuit of their first NBA Championship the Nuggets leaned into that narrative. The city edition jerseys here feature the no. 5280 and a topographical line pattern of the mountains.
Detroit Pistons

The Pistons are calling out their Bad Boys era. Especially with skull and crossbones. The jersey also features the CD2 mark and signature of Chuck Daly signature.

The Warriors are paying homage to their city through the cable cars. With the trolley car insignia above the jock tag. The trolley wheel itself featured on the belt buckle. The font is an inspiration to old route signs.
Los Angeles Lakers

LA is the city of dreams and the Lakers city edition jerseys resemble how those dreams and the city has evolved over the past six decades. The all-black uniform is a throwback to the move to Los Angeles in the 1960’s.
“There’s an LAL mark on the waistband, in the same triangular fashion that ties to their team name and ‘Leave a Legacy,’ which is the team’s tagline.”

Finally a jersey thats homage to deer district and the Bucks first championship in 50 plus years. The base color represents the Great Lakes. The splattered pattern represents fans in the stands. It’s a cool way for the team to say thank you.

The Mexican culture runs deep in Phoenix both on and off the court. The Suns have chosen city edition jerseys that will represent that culture in the 2023-24 NBA season.
