The Oregon Ducks have undergone a lot of change since the end of the season. It was well known that star players like Bo Nix, Bucky Irving, Jackson Powers-Johnson and Troy Franklin would declare for the NFL Draft. However, the transfer portal has created more change. Players like Ty Thompson and Kris Hutson have entered, however, the Ducks have gained both Dillon Gabriel and Dante Moore. Now the Oregon Ducks have added transfer RB Jay Harris from Northwest Missouri State.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound back will have two years of eligibility left upon enrolling at Oregon. Spending two years with the Bearcats he played in 15 games and ran for 1,645 total yards and 19 touchdowns on 292 carries. In 2023 alone he ran for 1,433 yards and 14 touchdowns on 244 carries, averaging 5.9 yards per carry. He also caught 10 passes for 32 receiving yards and was named an AP Division II All-American.

For several years, the Oregon Ducks have always featured a strong RB room. Even with Bucky Irving declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft, the Ducks RB room will remain loaded. Heading into the 2024 season, that room is headlined by former transfer junior Noah Whittington and sophomore Jordan James.

Though with Jay Harris transferring into Oregon, it looks like Carlos Locklyn’s group may be a three-headed monster. Harris will likely rotate with Whittington and James. Though freshman Jayden Limar is also expected to be in the mix. The Ducks also have incoming freshman Da’Juan Riggs coming in through the 2024 recruiting class.

The Ducks will have one more go with Irving in the backfield in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl. Where they will take on Liberty on Jan. 1.
